Quote:
Dear Metro Anime,

My name is Roland Kelts, and I am the half-Japanese American author of
*Japanamerica:
How Japanese Pop Culture has Invaded the US* <http://japanamericabook.com/>,
published in the US and Europe by Palgrave Macmillan, and in Japan by Random
House Kodansha.

*Japanamerica* has just been released in an expanded and updated paperback
edition. To celebrate the new edition, Kinokuniya New York (the new outlet
on Bryant Park) and TokyoPop are teaming up for an in-store event next
Wednesday, February 27, starting at 6 p.m.

The event will feature a cosplay event and contest for attendees,
TokyoPop original
manga creators James Barry (artist of Warriors) and Melissa De Jesus (artist
of Sokora Refugees)--and possibly up to three other artists--a reading and
manga panel, and a book signing. There are also plans afoot for discounts
and prizes.

Things are still being arranged, but I wanted to alert you in advance in the
event that you and/or some of your site's visitors and members might wish to
attend. I have attached the official flier from Kinokuniya in gif and pdf
formats.

Please let me know if you are interested and I would be happy to send
additional details. It would be a great pleasure to meet and welcome you to
the event, should you be interested.

very best,
Roland Kelts

So, anyone else interested in going?

Really? Nothing useful gleaned.

Boo.

I wanted to make it but due to a misunderstanding, I missed the whole thing. Gah.

omg it was so boring and way too hot in there. Lots of people standing around, even the speakers were using rags to dab the sweat on their foreheads.
Also the constant shoving of anime next flyers in your face.
Very uncomfortable and boring meet.
Oh and the cosplay was weak>_>.
Funny thing is that a rep from Delrey was there also, i said hi^__^

Pros: I got some manga that i didnt get to buy at the midtown comics god sale.
